A: hi Mari, how are you?

B: Pretty good! And you?

A: Good! Mari, would you like to go to a party?

B: A party? That sounds like fun. When is the party?

A: It’s right now!

B: Oh I’d love to go to a party!
A: Great! It’s just down the street.
B: Okay! Let’s go!

Conversation 2:

A: Hi Mari, how are you?

B: Pretty good, and you?
A: Great! Mari, my cousin Jenny is getting married. Would you like to go to the wedding with me?
B: I’d love to! When is the wedding?
A: It’s today at 4 p.m.

B: At 4 p.m? But it’s 10:00 a.m. now! Oh dear I’d better get ready!
A: I’ll pick you up at 3 o’clock!

Conversation 3:

A: Mari, would you like to go to a film?
B: A film? When is the film?
A: This afternoon.
B: I’m sorry I can’t go this afternoon. I’m busy. But thanks anyway.

A: Maybe another time.
B: Sure, let’s go another time.

  • It’s been 10 years now. We’ll throw a small party. Can you join us?
  • I would love to Peter, but I might be flying to Colorado on Sunday.
  • Well, we’ll miss you if you can’t make it, but I understand.
  • I can make it if the trip gets delayed, Peter.
